Your wedding day is going to be one of the busiest days of your life! With so much on your mind, it's easy to forget the little things. It's important to have a checklist so you don't forget anything! Here is a list of wedding day reminders that you can keep with you to ensure your day goes as smoothly as possible!
1. Eat and stay hydrated!
You're going to be filled with emotions and have a lot to do to get ready. Probably the best thing you could possibly do for yourself on your big day is wake up and eat a good, balanced breakfast. Make sure you start your day off well fed! Then, keep healthy snacks and plenty of water around so you can curb your hunger and stay hydrated. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to forget to eat on your wedding day. If it helps, have one of your bridesmaids be in charge of making sure you're fed and hydrated!
2. Have an emergency kit.
There are a million little things you may need on your wedding day, so prepping an emergency wedding kit is key. Medicine, tissues, band-aids, sewing needles, bobby pins, hair ties, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairspray, heel pads, Tide-to-go, tape...You never know what you may need to get through the day! Keeping a kit with all these types of things on hand will make getting ready so much easier and less stressful.
3. Use the restroom before you put on the dress.
The last thing you want to do is get all settled and zipped up in your amazing dress and then realize you have to pee! Take a bathroom break right before you put on the dress and then hopefully you'll be good to go at least until after the ceremony!
4. Designate someone to handle your personal belongings.
Has anyone seen my....? Your day is busy enough. You shouldn't have to be worried about your personal belongings. Your purse, your cell phone, small personal items...Make sure you designate someone specific to handle these things. This will make it much easier for you to access them throughout the day and night when you need them.
5. Have a comfy pair of backup shoes.
Yes, we know. Your heels are absolutely stunning and match your dress perfectly. But...chances are, your feet are going to be wanting out of those heels at some point in the day! Always have a cute and comfy pair of backup shoes so you have the option of changing into something more comfortable. Besides, do you really want to dance in heels all night?
6. Take care of your vendors.
It takes a team to put on a successful wedding day. Even with everything going on around you, make sure and treat your vendors well. They are working super hard to make your day amazing. Acknowledge them, tell them thank you, and make sure they get fed!
7. Expect the unexpected.
You know what they say about the best laid plans. No matter how well you've planned the day, there are things that are out of your control. Inclement weather, drunken guests...anything can happen. Be prepared to go with the flow and deal with unforeseen issues. The day may not be perfect, but marrying the love of your life will be.
8. Breathe, smile, and have fun!
It's your wedding day! All the planning, all the anticipation, all the stress...let it all go, breathe, and enjoy yourself! You've got vendors and loved ones making sure the day runs smoothly. All you need to do is cherish every moment of your special day and have the time of your life with your significant other!
