Meet Samantha Rosenberg! (Pt. 2)

Last week we featured Samantha Rosenberg, a wonderful Austin wedding planner! We learned all about her background, how she started her successful business, and even got some wedding planning tips from her. This week, we bring you even more awesome tips from the amazing Samantha herself!

1. Delegate, Delegate, Delegate!!!

As the bride, it's not your job to work on your wedding day! Instead, you should be focusing everything on you and your husband-to-be. Hiring a coordinator will greatly relieve most of the last-minute stressors, but for any other little details that come up, make sure you recruit adequate help! It's always good to ask close friends and family (in advance!) to have your back with the little things so your only job on your big day is to say "I do!"

2. Set a realistic budget based on your guest count and venue

Unfortunately, the average cost of a modern wedding has become incredibly expensive! The majority of brides will come to their planner with a budget that undercuts realistic costs by at least 20% or more. A coordinator's goal should be not only to ensure that the wedding remains within budget, but also that realistic expectations are set up front from the beginning. Guest count will largely dictate your overall wedding cost. Considerations like these need to be carefully evaluated with the planner up front in order to keep unexpected expenditures from creeping in. It's also very important to set clear budget amounts for every category of the wedding at the start of your wedding planning process.

3. Take it one step at a time

While it's very easy to get carried away in the beginning stages of planning, make sure to do everything in a logical order. Otherwise, you will likely be setting yourself up for a disappointment and unnecessary stress. For example, in your initial excitement, don't hire your favorite vendors before you have solidified your wedding date! Timing is everything in this industry, so you want to be certain that all of the vendors you wish to book can accommodate you on your selected date and venue!

4. Hire vendors that you feel a connection with

You're going to be working with your vendors frequently throughout the planning process; some of them will even be spending your wedding day with you. For that reason, it's very important to feel a good connection with each of them from the beginning. If you're interviewing prospective vendors and don't have a great feeling about one, keep looking until you find the right fit.
